My road to a jiu jitsu purple belt was long and winding, full of learning, growth, and the support of others. So grateful for the exceptional coaching by and , for thousands of rounds with the best training partners, and for creating a .planetnetwork community in Austin. Lessons (and reminders):
• Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not who someone else is today
• Discovering my learning style is my responsibility
• Nothing changes if nothing changes. To see big changes in outputs, commit sincerely to changing my inputs (habits)
• Let go of the grips that don’t serve me
• Be like water. Direct resistance is often not the answer
• Choosing the way I struggle is a blessing
