I DID IT 😤 — I conquered one of the most elusive and badass game fish in Central Texas history: a MONSTER freshwater Striped Bass. Or as I like to call them… “the man in the striped suit” 😈
This beast was 43 INCHES of pure, drag-screaming, adrenaline-pumping power.

Living here in Central Texas, I think it’s safe to say that a 10+ lb largemouth bass is considered the most sought-after and legendary fish an angler can catch. For many years, that was my mindset too—until I became aware of these BEASTS.
After catching my 13 lb 8 oz largemouth at a young age, followed by many other double-digit LMBs, I felt content moving on and targeting other big, bad species.
But there was always one fish that completely eluded me—the monster Striped Bass. This creature lives and breathes right here in my backyard, killing everything in its path and breaking even the heaviest of equipment. Anybody who REALLY knows me 😂 knows I’ve spent yearssss casting oversized baitfish imitations, losing sleep, and obsessing over these fish. And somehow, I could NEVER get my shot 🤷🏼♂️
12/28/2025 — the stars aligned ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A spur-of-the-moment trip with my buddy 🤝 led to the bite I’ve been endlessly searching for over the years. First, I landed a 31” tank of a striper that gave me a serious brawl. Moments later, the 43” GIANT showed up and was ready for war. CRUSHING my 13” swimbait, and giving me one of the wildest fights of my life. She took me on the quite a sleigh ride in the kayak
We f***** did it. What a way to end the year 🥹🙏🏼
