Red, Blue, Yellow, Green.... colors may seem like a simple concept, but did you know they can play a role in how your business is perceived?

Take logos for example - this is where first impressions of customers are based, right? Even before a potential customer knows what your business is about, the color can convey emotions, feelings and experiences, whether consciously or subconsciously. This holds true to all of your marketing efforts as well - ads, posts, websites, etc.

Think about some of the most iconic brands you know and the colors they - very strategically - chose to brand themselves with. It's pretty interesting how the colors they use really do tie with how they want people to feel about their company!

How's your hashtag game?

Content tagged with hashtags reaches more people than those without. Simple. Here's some quick tips for hashtags on Instagram.

Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per post. It’s important that you use as many as you possibly can (at least 10), focusing on a mix of three types of hashtag :

1. The most popular hashtags in your niche: These have the highest number of followers, reach and views, but are highly competitive. Need help finding these? That's what we're here for!

2. Relevant trending hashtags: Trending hashtags are short-lived but they receive high levels of engagement, views and will definitely increase your Instagram reach.

3. Branded hashtags. In our opinion these are MOST important. These are tags that include your brand, product or content name. When you first start posting with branded hashtags they will have little to no effect on your reach, but as you grow, develop a community and encourage your followers to contribute, they can help build an intensely loyal tribe of die-hard followers.

No go forth and HASHTAG!

Is one of your challenges bridging the generation gap? Here is a great article about a study of Gen Z shoppers (those born from 1996-2015).

Some of the top things they look for in a business:

- brands that are authentic, with 82% saying they trust a company more if it uses images of real customers in its advertising

- 72% said they're more likely to buy from a company that contributes to social causes.

- Product quality, positive ratings and reviews and customer service are the top three characteristics that establish trust in a brand among Gen Zers

A great read!

With high expectations for digital experiences, 82% of the cohort say they trust a company more if it uses images of real customers in its advertising.

With limited marketing budgets, we know you are especially cautious when it comes to investing in marketing strategies. You need value for your money. One of the most cost-effective marketing strategies is definitely marketing through FREE social media accounts. On social networks, your small businesses can attract, assist, and be in direct contact with your customers. Here's why.

▪️It's where your audience is. Since social media is the simplest way to communicate and keep in touch with families and friends, most, if not all, age groups use it (in some way) on a daily basis.

▪️Since being active on social networks means frequently posting engaging and valuable content on your profiles, the chances of attracting new leads and directing them to your website rapidly increase.

▪️Recommendation and recognition. By nature, people are hesitant to try something new - they like brands and companies recommended either by people close to them, or by online reviews. If you don't have a social media presence, how can they recommend you?

▪️Last but not least, social channels bring you much closer to your audience. Through interaction and constant communication with your customers, you are able to gain new insights into their needs and wants.

But let's be honest, the number of social media platforms grows every day, and can seem overwhelming, especially if its a channel you don't use in your personal life. But that where we can help. If you are unsure of which marketing strategy to use, we will help you come up with the most efficient strategy to reach more customers and get the most of your social media presence.

In this digital age of everything being accessible online, it's more important than ever to know how your brand is being portrayed by your customers when they leave online reviews. The avenues to leave feedback atr seemingly endless - Google reviews, Facebook, and Yelp to name but a few. Unfortunately, this feedback isn’t always positive and once it is online, it is there for all of your future customers to see as it is very difficult to remove it.

Do you know what your customers are saying about you?
