🔥 Viewer Video: Plainfield - Car Fire in B-Dubs Parking Lot

Viewer-submitted video shows a car fire in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot earlier this afternoon around 1:30 PM. Plainfield Fire Department quickly responded and extinguished the fire.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

(Truck Crunching Sound Warning) 🚨 Bridgeport Rd Update 🚧

Bridgeport Rd is now back open after an earlier incident around 10:30 AM, when a box truck hit the CSX rail bridge and caused a temporary road closure. Crews cleared the scene and traffic is moving normally again.

Bridgeport Rd is closed in both directions at the CSX rail bridge after a box truck struck the bridge. Crews are on scene assessing the damage.

🚨 Urban Search in Avon

Avon Fire and Avon Police launched an urban search this evening around 7:15 PM near US-36 & Gable Dr for a missing male subject (age unknown). After a coordinated effort, crews were able to locate the individual safely by 7:30 PM.

Great teamwork from first responders in bringing this to a quick and safe conclusion. 👏

I’m on scene at Glasswater Creek Assisted Living in Plainfield near US-40 and Ronald Reagan Parkway, where crews from Plainfield and Avon responded this evening after reports of smoke on the second floor. 🚒 Residents were briefly evacuated as a precaution, and everyone is safe. The cause was quickly found to be food burning in one of the units.

🚨 High Rise Building Alarm Response in Plainfield

Plainfield and Avon Fire Departments responded to the Glasswater Creek Assisted Living Facility off Ronald Reagan Parkway this evening after reports of smoke and alarm activation. Crews arrived quickly and made sure everyone inside was safe.

As a precaution, the building was briefly evacuated while firefighters checked the source of the smoke. It was determined to be from food burning in one of the units, and everyone was able to return inside shortly after.

Plainfield Police say a traffic stop on I-70 turned into a major bust after officers noticed suspicious behavior. K9 Echo was brought in and alerted to drugs, leading to the discovery of 216 pounds of vacuum-sealed ma*****na.

The department credited its night shift team and K9 Echo for their quick actions in stopping drug traffickers moving through the area.

When I started this page, it was just a small hobby — a way to share local updates and community news around Hendricks County. I never imagined it would grow into what it is today.

Now, one year later, Kiwi News Network has over 3,500 followers, and at the end of August, I officially became a Facebook partner. What began as something I did for fun has turned into a real platform that helps keep our community informed and connected. 💚
