Update: Pedestrian Struck on County Road 100S in Avon Has Passed Away

We have learned from the Plainfield Police Department that the pedestrian involved in the incident on County Road 100S between Raceway Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway has tragically passed away.

Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones during this difficult time.

I am on scene on County Road 100S between Raceway Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway, where 100S is completely blocked in both directions due to a reported pedestrian being struck.

The struck pedestrian was transported to the hospital

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find an alternate route while emergency crews respond.

🚨 Avon - Active Gas Leak in Oak Bend Estates, Residents Sheltering in Place 🚨

UPDATE 2: Leak has been stopped

UPDATE: At least two residences in the neighborhood have been ordered to evacuate.

There is an active gas main leak in the Oak Bend Estates neighborhood on Laurel Oak Dr. This is near Avon Ave & 100 N. Avon Fire Department is on scene working to secure the area. Residents in the immediate vicinity should stay clear and follow any instructions from first responders. Some residence in the area are being told to shelter in place by fire crews.

🚨 Residential Fire on Banner Ave

I am currently on scene of a working residential fire on Banner Ave near the US-40 intersection. Fire crews from Wayne Township, Plainfield, Speedway, and Avon Fire Departments responded to the scene.

According to neighbors, everyone was able to make it out of the home safely. Several individuals were evaluated and treated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters continue working to fully extinguish the fire and check for any hotspots. Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

🥶 12/19 Friday Morning Commute Update for Hendricks County 🥶

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for icy conditions this morning across Hendricks County. While main roads appear mostly clear, drivers should remain cautious — black ice may still be present, especially on bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas.

🚗 Neighborhood roads are reportedly slick, so allow extra time, slow down, and give yourself plenty of stopping distance if you’re heading out.

A viewer-submitted video captures smoke coming from a warehouse in Brownsburg during a large fire response. Multiple fire departments were called in and worked for several hours to bring the situation under control.

🚨🔥 ON SCENE: Warehouse Fire in Brownsburg 🔥🚨

I’m on scene at the warehouse fire in Brownsburg, where fire crews from Brownsburg, Wayne, Avon, Pittsboro, Speedway, Brown Township, and Zionsville worked more than three hours to bring the situation under control.

Crews faced heavy smoke and challenging conditions as they worked to contain the fire and prevent further damage. Firefighters remain on scene for overhaul and investigation.

🔥 Warehouse Fire in Brownsburg 🔥

Fire crews are currently on the scene of a working warehouse fire in Brownsburg, located off Archer Drive. Due to heavy smoke conditions, firefighters were forced to cut ventilation holes in the roof to help clear smoke from the building and assist with firefighting operations.

No word yet on injuries or the cause of the fire. Crews remain on scene.

We are currently headed to the scene and will update with additional posts at a later time.

A house is on fire along IN-39 just south of Belleville, with fire departments from across Hendricks County responding to the scene. Due to the active firefighting operations, IN-39 in this area has been completely closed to traffic as crews work to contain the fire.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
