Miley Smith joined the journalism class as a junior, now a senior this is her first year on the newspaper staff as a staff writer. Miley plans to move out of the state to go to a pastry school and join a culinary institute to become a Pastry Chef/Chocolatier. Her favorite memories with the staff is the trips and the print days. Jianna Menefee joined the newspaper staff this year as a staff writer. Jianna plans to join the Medical field in the Army and later plans to study veterinary medicine. Her favorite memory with the staff is the summer journalism trip. We love our senior Jianna Menefee! 💚

🌟SENIOR SPOTLIGHT🌟:
Madelyn Tucker joined the Journalism class as a freshmen and later joined The Sting as a sophomore. Madelyn is the In-Design Editor and she helps with the layout of our print papers, writes stories and is the only staff member in practicum and works at the Azle News. Madelyn plans to attend Stephen F. Austin and is majoring in Aviation to become a pilot. Her favorite memory in the newspaper was watching the class change from year to year, watching the people come and go and loves the bonding the staff has. We appreciate your hard work and dedication Madelyn Tucker! 💚

🌟SENIOR SPOTLIGHT🌟:
Rebecca Trammell has been in The Sting for 2 years now, joining the staff as a junior and began working as an intern. Now a senior Rebecca is the photographer editor, she writes stories, gathers photos and edits them for the newspaper. Rebecca plans to attend Tarleton State University and major in Astrophysics. Her favorite memory in the newspaper is the San Marcos trip during the summer and the San Antonio trip at the beginning of the year because it was a big learning experience and she grew closer to the staff. We love our senior Rebecca Trammell! 💚

The Sting wants to reshare a story written in the fall titled “Starting the Conversation.” If you or someone you know is in crisis, there are free resources available. Jason McDonald was announced as Azle High School’s Teacher of the Year today. Principal Nate Driver, the assistant principals, cheerleaders and Buzzy visited his classroom during third period announcing the news along with an award, balloons, and a Starbucks glass-jar frappuccino. When I was taking his picture, his AP Environmental Science class told us to ‘take as long as we need,’ hoping to get out of the chemistry lab planned that day.
