And so it begins...the restoration of Argyle Falls! Crews began working on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 on the western most section of the Falls. We're keeping you informed during this tedious restoration project and we know you're looking forward to seeing our Village landmark beautiful once again!

A great start to a new day! Crews arrived last evening to begin prepping the site as we get ready to begin the restoration of Argyle Falls.

For safety reasons, we ask all our Village residents and guests to please take precaution and avoid the area near Argyle Falls during this restoration project.

The anticipated completion of the project (weather permitting) is within 2-3 months. We thank you for your cooperation during this time. We will keep everyone informed as we go through the process towards completion!

Ostebo Kings Park Heritage Museum for a special tour through our rich history! Did you know that the Heritage Museum is the only one of its kind in the USA?

Police say about a half an hour later, officers found 32-year-old Keith Clancy, of Mattituck, driving near exit 69 on the LIE and arrested him in connection to the crash.

Clancy will be arraigned Monday and is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.

Kings Park Fire Department

At 6:46 am, the Kings Park Fire Department was dispatched to a water rescue. A boat with three people on board was reported to be capsized approximately 0.5 miles off of Sunken Meadow. Multiple units including 4-1-19, 4-1-9, 4-1-6-1, and 4-1-4 responded, as well as units from Northport Fire Department, the United States Coast Guard, and local law enforcement agencies. Three people were found in the water wearing life jackets. They were assisted from the water onto 4-1-19, and brought to shore. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and everyone is back to enjoying this summer day. Be sure to wear your life jacket any time you are on the water, and stay safe out there!

The Kings Park Civic Association reached out to the Town of Smithtown and the owners of the Key Food Shopping Center to create better access for wheelchairs and strollers into the parking lot. Previously, the only way in for pedestrians was through the car entrances. We are excited to say that the Town of Smithtown and the property owners whole-heartedly embraced this project and work has begun.
Suffolk County has also said it will replace the bus shelter on Meadow Rd., near the new handicapped access area in the coming months. The combined project will add to the appeal of the area and enhance walkability.

This was the fourth of six workshops, and the largest turnout so far. There are only two more, Commack on April 4th and Kings Park on April 11th. Don't miss them and your opportunity to be a part of what the future holds for our Town. Proudtown was there interviewing people about what they loved about living in their Town.
