Kings Park Fire Department

At 6:46 am, the Kings Park Fire Department was dispatched to a water rescue. A boat with three people on board was reported to be capsized approximately 0.5 miles off of Sunken Meadow. Multiple units including 4-1-19, 4-1-9, 4-1-6-1, and 4-1-4 responded, as well as units from Northport Fire Department, the United States Coast Guard, and local law enforcement agencies. Three people were found in the water wearing life jackets. They were assisted from the water onto 4-1-19, and brought to shore. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and everyone is back to enjoying this summer day. Be sure to wear your life jacket any time you are on the water, and stay safe out there!

Kings Park Civic Association

The Kings Park Civic Association reached out to the Town of Smithtown and the owners of the Key Food Shopping Center to create better access for wheelchairs and strollers into the parking lot. Previously, the only way in for pedestrians was through the car entrances. We are excited to say that the Town of Smithtown and the property owners whole-heartedly embraced this project and work has begun.
Suffolk County has also said it will replace the bus shelter on Meadow Rd., near the new handicapped access area in the coming months. The combined project will add to the appeal of the area and enhance walkability.
