Baird welcomes new head coach Jeremy Kirk back to the area as the Bears look to get into the playoffs for the second straight season.

According to Brandon McCauliffe, Baird has named Jeremy Kirk as its next head coach. Kirk was formerly at Abilene TLCA during their transition from 1A to 2A and has been in Natalia, I believe, under Jason Reynolds.

Day 2 was a washout. Scores were finalized as the 18 hole total (1 day) meaning Cody tied for 5th. He shot 79 in difficult conditions. Congratulations Cody!

All that is left for 2025 sports is regional tennis next week - May 8th and 9th in San Angelo and the state meet the next week. Good luck to all our tennis players!

Solid round 1 at the state tournament for Cody Means. Cody shot 79, good for T-5 and just 5 shots off the lead and 3 out of medal contention. Go low, Cody, go low!

It’s Gameday! Your Lady Bears take on Hermleigh in Clyde tonight for the Area Championship. One game-winner take all matchup. Drive overr, be loud and proud-these young ladies deservee any support they get.

We’ll have the call if you can’t make it or want to listen from the stands.
Game time is 7:00 pm. Pregame will begin at approximately 6:45.

Your Lady Bears take on Cross Plains in Bi-District softball action at 6:30 pm. Game is at Abilene High.

Also, the girls’ softball playoff has been set. There will be a 1 game winner-take-all against Cross Plains on Thursday night. 6:30 at Abilene High. I’ll have that call as well!
