Since 1966, the & Girls Clubs of Kern County has grown alongside the community it serves. What began as the Boys Club of Bakersfield has evolved into a place where young people across Kern County can learn, connect, and build confidence.

The Club has expanded far beyond its early “gym and swim” roots. Today, youth explore the arts, take part in enrichment and character-building programs, and prepare for the future through workforce readiness opportunities and internships. Each evening, more than 2,000 meals are served, while safe care and community partnerships help support families throughout the county.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief: every child deserves a place to belong and the opportunity to grow.
