Our strawberry cake almost didn’t make it out this week after a frosting mishap in the kitchen 😅 but somehow it turned into one of our most talked about desserts.

Now there’s only one slice left ❤️

For over 100 years, Pyrenees has been part of Bakersfield’s rich Basque culture and tradition — serving generations of families, travelers, workers, and locals right here in Old Town Kern.

Back in the early 1900s, Basque immigrants came to Bakersfield searching for opportunity, and restaurants like Pyrenees became gathering places where people could share meals, stories, culture, and community.

And that same family-style tradition still lives on today.

This isn’t just one of the most iconic restaurants in Bakersfield…

It’s a piece of Bakersfield history.
