🤠 Hold onto your hats, Kern County… actually, go make a new one. 🎡

Meet Rick De Leon of E & D Hat Co. & Mobile Hat Bar (Rick De Leon), the Santa Paula hatmaker who traded the corporate world for a craft that came to him in a dream. Literally. He woke up, researched the tools, and five years in he’s shaping hats and making memories. ✨

He’s bringing his custom hat experience to the Kern County Fair, running through Oct. 4. You pick your hat, shape the brim, and load it up with feathers, conchos, charms, rhinestones or a hand-braided horsehair band. Then you head to the branding bar to seal the deal. 🔥

Every hat has a lifetime warranty, because as Rick says, these are generational hats. 🐎

And now we’re off to the Fairgrounds for a girls’ night with Angie 🐝 and jbeesboutique_official to see the hat magic in the wild! 🎠 Come find us, grab a drink, and make something that’ll outlive the Ferris wheel lights. 💃

His work has crossed borders and will soon share space with a Smithsonian exhibition, but you're just as likely to find him teaching art at Bakersfield College or mentoring students at Central Valley High School.

A $100 flea-market turntable started it all. 🎧
