Checked out with my club for coffee and a muffin this morning. It was a beautiful gathering of members, friends and family ranging from eight months to eight decades old! 🥰

Tonight begins a 14-hour training (broken up across multiple sessions) for our Positive Peace Conversations program. There are 25 attendees, most of whom are from CNY Rotary clubs, who will learn the skill of mediation and addressing conflict. They will then be asked to visit with local clubs to practice their skills and will continue serving as a mediation resource for fellow clubs and districts.
Thank you to all who are committing to learn and serve in this way.
Thank you to our Peace Committee for bringing this program to our members.
We can't wait to see what you can do in the future!

Got to borrow Dad’s work truck for a project this past weekend and it was fun to drive a big truck. I also got to listen to terrestrial radio and not know the artist until the DJ told me who it was - took me back! Fun fact: I have owned multiple trucks, but never one this big. I had a GMC Sonoma in college that was stick shift and my first “new” car I bought myself in was a Chevy Colorado. I swear I’d still be driving that today if I hadn’t totaled it in a car accident in 2012. It was orange, and sporty, and so fun! I’ll see if I can dig up a pic to put in the comments on FB! I even had a sticker that said “trucks are for girls” 😄

It’s been 13 years since we lost my mom, Linda. If you ever wonder why I’m bossy, it’s genetic from her. I’ve also got her love of puzzles, Christmas, and family togetherness. I have her laugh, her hands and her hair. I didn’t have her at my wedding, or to call on for advice and support as I’ve gone on this leadership journey with Rotary. Cancer robs us of a lot, but it can’t take away the time and memories we had together, which are many because we did so much together. Miss you today and always! ♥️

It’s here on the official World Polio Day! The video is simple (thanks to Canva for updating their video editing tools at this very moment /sarcasm), but Ellie’s story shines through. Bring a tissue and listen to this sweet woman explain why we can never forget how scary polio is for families and how important vaccination is, because it is completely preventable! Donations are welcome, but your awareness is what’s most important 💜
