KCMH listener supported Christian ministry radio station Sharathon was a beautiful success last weekend. Listeners pledge over 37 thousand dollars in 16 hours for the operating expenses for this year. Cheryl Crofoot Knapp and I broadcast all 16 hours over the Arkansas station from our home studio is Wisconsin. Fantastic studio quality sound from 800 miles apart. Praise the Lord and happy Resurrection Sunday.

What a night for great storytelling. The waining full moon still casting long shadows over the nearby cemetery and a heritage trolly packed with captive guests riding the rails on the Minnesota Streetcar Museum's TCRT No. 1300. Our conductor Rod Eaton welcomes us to the National Register of Historic Places standard gauge streetcar and the adventure begins. Tall tales of ghostly proportion spun by four master story tellers Jodi Livon, Arne Fogel, Chuck Knapp and Kevin Kling weave shivering accounts of unspeakable tragedy. Without warning clouds consume the moon and the evening turns very dark. I wonder aloud "will we make it back to the Linden Hills station?" 40 plus passengers with their hearts in their throat and all for a great cause, the all volunteer 501c(3) MSM. I'll bet many slept with one eye open last night.

The Minnesota Streetcar Museum presents "classic tales of the beyond" read by well-known Twin Cities personalities. It's the literary event (sold out) of the season. This Friday night we'll step from the station onto a National Registry of Historic Places 116 year old trolley and proceed to ride the rails to our resting place next to Lakewood Cemetery. Once there vocalist and radio host Arne Fogel, Hall of Fame long time radio personality Chuck Knapp and actor, playwright, and storyteller Kevin Kling will present chilling accounts of real ghost stories from long ago. We hope to return to the platform at the Linden Hills station before.....well you know, here's hoping the (MSM) captive cash paying passengers make it back.

A tribute to the late great legendary J.J.Jeffrey, live on the radio tomorrow (Saturday Oct. 12) at 10 A.M. (Eastern) on 980wcap.com Active Radio host Hartley Pleshaw pays tribute to one of America's most unique radio personalities. He'll be reminiscing about JJ's life and playing clips from his radio show. Hartley has asked me to join him and I'm delighted to be included in story telling on JJ. We'll be doing our best to honor one of the very best broadcast icons of the AM radio rock & roll days.

J.J.Jeffrey. Gone but never forgotten. Early this morning our dear larger than life radio personality and great friend to so many .passed peacefully. The words "rest in peace" serve this moment very well.

George Johns, the best radio programmer I ever worked with has passed away on the day of his 83rd birthday. I first met him in 1964 in Winnipeg, Canada. We sat in a 14' aluminum fishing boat drinking a beer and forming a friendship that would span 60 years. I had worked with some very talented people in my career and thought I had all the knowledge it took to be successful as a programmer and then I worked for George at All New WIBG in Philadelphia in 1976. I had all the pieces of radio programming up on the table, so to speak but it was George who showed me how to arrange them in the correct order and taught me how to build and maintain a top rated radio station. Within a couple of years I got my chance to take KS95-FM off of automation and build a true live and local Adult Contemporary radio powerhouse. I'll always be forever grateful for George's mentorship and decades long friendship. God bless him and prayers for his beautiful family.

Update on J.J.Jeffrey.....he's in high, typical JJ spirits, laughing, teasing and holding court with the staff at the assisted care facility. They love him. One request he has "use your sense of humor." No downers-nothing heavy when you write him at Box 1440, Yarmouth, Maine 04096. His condition is being assessed and I'll post more about that as it becomes available.

I remember the morning after 9-11. Dr. John Piper the theologian, pastor and founder of desiringGod.org joined Rev. Jon Engen and me in studio at KTIS-FM and for several hours taught us how to begin to spiritually process what had just happened to America.

One of my very closest radio buddies of all time could use a card or letter from you. J.J.Jeffrey retains his "JJ" humor and spirit as he settles into assisted living in his beloved home state of Maine.

Tonight @ 10.....It's a blessing to be included in the Rewoundradio.com WLS/WCFL battle of Chicago's two Hall of Fame Radio stations. WLS already in the hall and WCFL being inducted into the Illinois Rock & Roll H.O.F. this October 20th.
I'll be there on Route 66 for that one but now an hour of me on WLS from 52 years ago. Are you kidding me?
