WEAA - 88.9 FM: The Voice of the Community WEAA is an exquisite mixture of programming. Jazz dominates the airwaves and is complimented by gospel, reggae, and excellent public affairs programming.

WEAA 88.9 FM is an award-winning jazz public radio station that has served the Baltimore Metropolitan area for over 30 years. Each week over 90,000 listeners are entertained, enlightened and informed by our locally produced music, news and public affairs content, which are complimented by syndicated programs from NPR and PRI including Tell Me More with Michel Martin, News & Notes and The Tavis Smiley Show.

Five officers have been indicted over the beating death of Tyre Nichols. Four of them had previously been disciplined by the Memphis police department for car crashes, excessive force and more.

"The Memphis Police Department has confirmed that a sixth officer has been disciplined during the investigation into the death of Tyre Nichols."

Nichols, 29, was pulled over on Jan. 7 for what police said was reckless driving. After trying to flee on foot, Nichols was severely beaten by police. He died in a hospital days later.
