Hey we have one week until Arbor Day: The Root of Evil hits Fairfax on Saturday, September 12th at 8 PM, Cinemark Fairfax Corner 14 and XD.

This is our second DMV showing, and this time we're bringing the crew: Michael Jayne, Brooke Mulkins, John Johnson, and Justin Timpane (four of six directors), plus Logan Liskovec, who plays the arborist.

DMV filmmakers, George Mason University film students, campy horror fans, or just anyone looking for something fun to do this Saturday: come hang out with us.

The start of our legacy.

Sixteen years ago today, on September 4, 2010, Browncoats: Redemption premiered at Dragon Con to a room packed wall-to-wall with Browncoats.

The film itself was a labor of love, stacked with cameos from across the Verse.

But what made that night unforgettable wasn't just what was on screen. It was the room. A community surrounded by fellow flans, celebrating a show that refused to die.

Every single dollar raised went straight to charity, including Kids Need To Read, Equality Now, The Dyslexia Foundation, The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center, and the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.

That's the legacy of this fandom in a nutshell. Browncoats pouring their time, talent, and love into something bigger than themselves.

BDF continues that charitable mission and tradition with all films we make.

We're bringing a Virginia indie film legend home... well, north of home. Johnny Johnson, the guy behind decades of Virginia indie horror out of Charlottesville, is coming to Fairfax.

On Saturday, September 12th at 8 PM, we're screening the anthology Arbor Day: The Root of Evil, which features his segment, "Quartette of Screams." He'll be there live for a post-credits Q&A alongside Michael Jayne, Logan Liskovec (the actual Arborist himself), and more surprise guests. Plus, every ticket sold plants a real tree in support of the Arbor Day Foundation!
