"Have you ever talked to a co**se? It's boring!"- An American Werewolf In London
It's funny...as soon as I decided to make this status, I immediately knew how to start it off. I knew the above quote would be the best way to convey the sentiment I wanted to, just in a manner that all of you could (potentially) immediately relate to. That was the easiest part. Everything else seems to be infinitely more difficult to convey.
I had a much longer winded announcement typed that I just deleted. Rather than get into a whole lot of backstory that no one really cares about, I'll just cut to the point.
As of me typing this, it has been over two months since I last posted an episode for City of Horror. I've gathered notes and started working on a handful of episodes in the time since I last posted one, but something always keeps me from finishing it. Last night I attempted to record a new episode, this time discussing 1987's Witchboard, but between being annoyed with my microphone picking up fireworks (despite the fact that I have to practically be makingout with it for it to pick me up) and hating that I have to talk to myself to record each episode and no form of interaction, be it a co-host or fan correspondence, it's just become a constant uphill battle. Literally every podcast I listen to has two hosts. And while we all have conversations with ourselves in our own heads on a daily basis, it doesn't translate well into "talk radio" so to speak.
That said, much like our favorite slasher film icons, City of Horror is NOT dead. I'm planning on taking some time to revamp everything. The website, the format, the music....everything. I'm also going to start the search for a co-host as well.
City of Horror WILL be back....just not til the final reel of the film.
Hugs and high-fives
