• Pleiades: A Journal of New Writing (& Reviews) is a literary biannual featuring poetry, fiction, essays, and reviews by authors from around the world. Past contributors include winners of the Nobel, Ruth Lilly, Pulitzer, Bollingen, Prix de la Liberté, and Neustadt Prizes, recipients of Guggenheim, Whiting, National Book Critics Circle and National Book Awards, and many writers seeing their work
in print for the first time.
• The Pleiades Book Review (PBR) comprises half of each issue of Pleiades and features both essay reviews and shorter reviews of primarily small-press books.
• Pleiades Press publishes a book of poetry a year, as determined through the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Prize. Judges are poets of national prominence, and the contest is co-directed by Susan Ludvigson and Wayne Miller. Guidelines for the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Prize are available here.
• Pleiades Press also publishes a book a year through the Unsung Masters Series. Each volume focuses on an important writer whose work has been unjustly neglected and features both a generous sample of creative work and numerous essays. Unsung Masters Series volumes are distributed free to subscribers with the June issue of Pleiades and are also available through Small Press Distribution.
• Each year, the Pleiades Visiting Writers Series brings 8-10 writers of national prominence to the University of Central Missouri, where they read from their work to students, faculty, and members of the community.
• Please direct questions regarding poetry or the Pleiades Book Review to Wayne Miller. Please direct questions regarding fiction or nonfiction to Phong Nguyen.
• To have a book considered for review, send a review copy to: Pleiades Book Review • Dept of English, Martin 336 • University of Central Missouri • Warrensburg, MO 64093. Please note: not all sent books will be reviewed, though we do review 40+ books in each issue.
