How Much Does It Cost to Say Thank You?
Recently, while shopping at Costco, I noticed something surprising. When people approach the sample stands, many don't ask, “May I have one, please?” and often forget to say, “Thank you.” It made me wonder: Have we become less verbally communicative? Are we missing gratitude in our everyday interactions?
My mom always said, “Manners are free,” and it’s a lesson that has stuck with me. But in today's fast-paced world, it seems we might be losing sight of this simple truth, both in our personal lives and in our workplaces.
We don’t need to spend money to make someone feel valued. Saying “thank you” costs nothing, but its value is immense. A little bit of gratitude can have a huge impact on our relationships and our communities. So, next time you’re handed that sample at Costco or someone assists you at work, remember to say “thank you.”
