The Sting The Sting provides ambitious reporting, sharp commentary, and in-depth coverage of events impacting Our staff includes undergraduate and graduate students.

The Sting (formerly The UB Post) is the official campus newspaper for the University of Baltimore. The paper is completely student-run and focuses on campus news and events, with selective coverage of the greater Baltimore area and beyond. The Post is published seven-eight times per year during the Fall and Spring semesters. Our sections include news, feature, opinion, business/politics, around ca

mpus and sports/ recreation. Currently-enrolled UB students are eligible for staff positions. The Sting first began publishing in 1933. A select set of archives are now available online. The UB Post officially rolled out web content on Feb. 1, 2014. Digital archives are typically posted soon after the current issue is published.

By Chole France and Demetrius Jones Where did Professor Leyva go to school? Professor Leyva attended undergrad at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then went on to complete his graduate work here at the University of Baltimore in the Creative Writing and Publishing Arts program. What motivated Professor Leyva to become a teacher? Growing up with an older brother, Rabu, who was a high school theater then mathematics teacher had an impact on Professor Leyva’s ultimate career field choice, considering he had already “seen a model of that in life.” During his first year of graduate school, he also started the Baltimore City teaching residency, where he became a high school teacher in the city....
