: We’re all going to fly like Ravens, baby!

Oh yes, it feels like a lot of us may need some dance breaks and full-on dance parties this fall. Here we go.

This summer we built a stage, hung some backdrops, painted the place, and turned our garage into The Hope Theater (in honor of my mother). To celebrate we invited our grooviest friends and neighbors over for a party. Our pals at Root Branch Media Group, Baltimore’s Black Woman-owned film company, captured the whole thing and here it is for your dancing pleasure.

Fly Like a Raven is from our new Smithsonian Folkways record Pieces of Home, available everywhere music is sold or given away. The LP is coming out in November.
