"Job Readiness" is one of the many categories we cover in our new and improved curriculum. During our "Motivational Monday's" we focus on encouraging our youth through affirmations, physical and mental wellness activities, our "Say Something Nice" wall, and job readiness skills.

Our monthly topic is "interviewing" and this weeks sub topic is "attire". We discussed what's proper and improper to wear during interviews. Following the group discussion, we engaged in a activity where the youth worked in groups and had to skim through the magazines and find pictures of proper interview clothing to dress up their paper dolls. This activity was fun and the youth were very creative. Great job guys👍🏽💼👩🏿‍💼👨‍💼.

For our "Group Motivated Collage" the girls and I decided to focus on something so close to our hearts....that's right....GIRL POWERRRRRR 🚺♀️👑. The girls were so focused on matching our pictures together that they became frustrated, but I explained to them that a collage is purposefully not perfectly coordinated, but that as long as we're creating from our souls and focusing on the same topic/subject our art will always BE a masterpiece. In any relationship/friendship setting/having BOUNDARIES are very important. Even as adults we sometimes forget to set limits and maintain balance, so as a reminder to myself as well as a teaching moment for my youth I decided to host a group about "boundaries and setting limits". We defined boundaries, discussed how to set those boundaries, how to maintain those boundaries, and when/why its important. We then discussed those things that are important to us to maintain healthy relationships/friendships and following created bracelets and/or key chains to remind us that these things are a MUST.

Mentoring is very important at theBEproject LLC. So we sometimes have our older youth act as "junior mentors" to those little one's that arent quite old enough to attend the BE workshops. Here we have our Big "BE" teaching some of our Little "BE"s how to bake cupcakes at our "Girls Nights" sleepover. The kiddies voted on confetti cupcakes, so that's what they got lol. There was lots of taste testing, sharing reminders, and cupcake eating lol. We had a ball. Thank you too our newest junior mentor Ms. Taylor W. for taking the time out to teach/help our Little "BE"s on the baling journey.

As a business owner and youth advocate, I take pride in learning all that I can about the populations I work with. Our younger generations are constantly changing, so I must as they say "keep up". Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder and these beauties are always reminding me of that. As we dug deep to find our hidden beauty within, we talked about those things on the outside that we cherish so dearly. We discussed the importance of faith and belief in oneself, along with the creation of positive affirmations. It was a packed house on this day and the girls were simply amazing....as usual. There is nothing wrong with "trying new things".................
Our mentees showed great leadership skills yesterday while trying a new dish. We made Parmesan Crusted Tomatoes and they were great. It was a new recipe and we enjoyed every bit of it.....we even added our own touch (thank you some suggestions from our Kitchen Volunteer, my mom lol). We cleaned up after every preparation to ensure no cross contamination and clean eating. The mentees even made a big dinner and vanilla cupcakes with homemade icing all on their own. Thank you so much mentees Taylor and Mesha for your patience, willingness to learn, and fun conversation. You guys did a fantastic job.

I love to see celebrities put their fame, money, and heart to good use. I cant wait to see the increase in graduation and school attendance and the decrease in burden, boredom and crime. Keep supporting our communities people. This is not just a job for the rich and famous.
