As a volunteer at BSM, I travel to other museums for events & help work on PCCs mainly. I am also a Locomotive Inspector/Engineer Class 1 railroad employee. The Fans of The Baltimore Streetcar Museum is run by me, Logan Tracy. I have been going to The Baltimore Streetcar Museum since I could walk. I started this page to spread the word about the museum with updates, events and pictures. At times,

NextGen Acela debuted on August, 28th and from then until Labor day I went out to see almost every run. Amtrak currently has 5 of the 28 trainsets. As of now they have:
TS11 PC 2116 & 2117
TS 12 PC 2113 & 2124
TS 14 PC 2141 & 2104
TS 20 PC 2130 & 2135
TS 21 PC 2129 & 2122

Wonder how on time performance was? It started off rough, with Thursday having an average lateness of 20 minutes, Friday exceeded that with 22 minutes. Saturday was 7 minutes and 30 seconds late, Sunday was on time. Monday was only 3 minutes and 45 seconds late. The average of Thursday until Monday was 12 minutes and 45 seconds later. Not too bad! Welcome aboard the NextGen Acela! The Avelia Liberty and/or the Acela ll enters service today, come take a ride and get a look at Amtraks most modern piece of rail equipment. This trainset rides so smooth, it’s scary quiet, the interior flows so well car to car. The signage in the train makes it extremely easy and simple to find your seat and where you are going. The new head supports keeps the person sitting beside you from falling asleep on you’re shoulder, with a built in reading light. The seat trays are steady and less disturbing to the person sitting in front of you. However I did find 2 things I dislike. The seats while being nice because the head supports, it lacks the ability to lean. Also the trashcan in the bathroom is in a awkward position. Other than that, it’s great!

For anyone who would like to attend, The Baltimore Streetcar Museum will be hosting a memorial service for Mark Dawson at the Museum Visitor's Center (1911 Falls Road) on Saturday August 30, 2025, at 10:30am. We hope you can join Mark's family, friends and fellow BSM volunteers to celebrate his incredible life as one of BSM's most cherished and long-time volunteers. The memorial service will be followed by lunch and light refreshments and of course a memorial trip on Baltimore Transit Company No. 4533 in Mark's honor. Please feel free to forward this to anyone not on social media who knew Mark that would like to attend.

Our curator for the museum, Mark Dawson, passed away over the weekend. Mark was the most knowledgeable person at the museum, he always made sure even the smallest detail was done while operating or conducting. I am very thankful to have had the chance to meet him but to learn from him.

Over the weekend, crews preformed trouble shooting on car. Baltimore Transit PCC #7407 was not building air properly. We started doing some tests. The needle will stop at approximately 65PSI, the compressor will run as intended, it will keep going after the needle stops. Then shut off, Acting like it was building to 90PSI. We did a test trip to see how the brakes felt (thinking the PSI gauge was the issue). We also found a leak for the air drain, while searching for it i noticed another drain on the second tank, which I opened and it ran water out of it for approximately 45 seconds to a minute.
