It’s one thing when a show gets canceled because the audience tunes out, that’s the “free market” at work. But it’s another when the government plays a role, even through a “casual” comment.

The 1st Amendment protects us from government censorship or pressure. It doesn’t protect us from the consequences of our own words. If Kimmel’s suspension was purely about ratings (which they sucked), finances (wasn’t looking good), or even his remarks — like others who’ve lost jobs for their disturbing reactions to Charlie Kirk’s death — we wouldn’t be talking about it today.

But when ABC made this decision an hour after the FCC chairman weighed in, it stopped looking like accountability & started looking like government influence.

You only need to listen to the first 7.5 minutes to get the gist of where I stand from yesterday’s segment.
