Continuing to share the launch of my latest project…below is the original deliverable with Spanish subtitles…

I was blessed to work with the renowned Carter Center and Baltimore City to produce content as part of their international Inform Women, Transform Lives campaign. The goal is to help people self-identify as caregivers and provide them information about the many resources available in the city. In coordination with their team, we decided to feature three women on very different caregiver journeys.

For this project, I drove concept, coordinated pre-production, directed the shoots, conducted the interviews, crafted the messaging, and edited the offlines. Thanks to my partners in the city for final polishing of the online.

The goal is to help people self-identify as caregivers and provide them information about the many resources available in the city. In coordination with their team, we decided to feature three women on very different caregiver journeys for a larger deliverable (see othe post).

However, we also wanted a shorter piece, more friendly for social media. This video focuses in on only one of our amazing caregivers.

For this project, I drove concept, coordinated pre-production, directed the shoots, conducted the interviews, crafted the messaging, and edited the offlines. Thanks to my partners in the city for final polishing of the online. A version with Spanish subtitles and the longer 3:44 piece are shared separately.

I’m so excited to share the launch of my latest project today.

I consider myself extremely lucky when my work is aligned with my values and beliefs. And this was a very rewarding project. Even I didn’t realize I was caregiver for the months after my father had his stroke. I was just doing what needed to be done. I wish I’d known then all the resources that were available & I hope others in similar situations will benefit from our efforts.

For this project, I drove concept, coordinated pre-production, directed the shoots, conducted the interviews, crafted the messaging, and edited the offlines. Thanks to my partners in the city for final polishing of the online. A version with Spanish subtitles and a cut-down :60 will be shared shortly.

“By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes…”

Planned to go to bed early, then I turned on David Tennant’s Macbeth on Marquee TV. I’m going to have to watch it again using my headphones. The acting & visual design are phenomenal, but pale in comparison to the sound design.

Interesting article below about binaural sound technology for a 3D soundscape. It was impressive on its own, I’ll bet it’s better with headphones, but I can’t imagine the experience in the theater!

Anyway, it looks great, sounds great and the classics are interpreted anew and expertly. You can feel the madness, labor, and loss in each tormented, “tomorrow.” Far from “a tale told by an idiot,” it’s presented brilliantly and signifies everything.

The creators of Macbeth, the acclaimed new production of Shakespeare's classic tragedy, have released more information about the use of audience headphones for the production.

So, it’s been a long time since I last posted, I’ve been super busy with work (that I should be posting here but I always forget), but I wanted to share…Anora is A-mazing! The Best Picture Winner is truely a unique story told in surprising ways. It’s funny and horrific. It’s gritty and beautiful all at once. Drew Daniel’s cinematography is imperfect, making it perfect for the attitude in this film. A single 30 minute scene will have you anxious and laughing. Sean Baker’s repeated choice to have half of a dialogue take place just out of frame is really teasing the viewer. You WANT to see the other person, but all you’ll get, and all you’ll need, is the reaction of the actor in-frame…it really is more than enough. Can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this small-budget independent film on so many levels.

All that being said, be warned, it’s really softcore p**n at points.

But, if you aren’t a prude, and can enjoy art told a truly unconventional way, see it!
