TLDR

1. Read more.
2. Don’t get caught up with how much other people are reading.
3. You can’t read critically if you don’t read at all.
4. Listen to the book while you read the physical copy.
5. Just do it. Your brain is a muscle and you have to get into the habit of using it

I read 22 books this year, and I liked most of them, but these are the ones that moved me, made me laugh the most, inspired the best conversation, ripped my heart out, made me think. All but number 5 I read in a book club, too. Maybe that has something to do it with it. I love the convo that comes with a really good read. Honorable mention: Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See and The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans.
