The City of Bardstown will honor former Mayor Dixie Hibbs with a downtown procession on Monday.

Following her funeral service at St. Joseph Church on Monday, October 13th, a funeral procession will travel through downtown Bardstown beginning around 11:30 to 11:45 a.m.

The procession route will depart from St. Joseph Church, travel east on Stephen Foster Avenue, circle Court Square, and continue down North 3rd Street to St. Joseph Cemetery.

City officials are inviting residents, business owners, and community members to take a moment to honor Hibbs’ memory as the procession passes—whether by standing outside along the route, pausing at workplaces, or observing a quiet moment of reflection.

Mayor Hibbs is remembered as a passionate advocate for Bardstown’s history, growth, and people, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape the city she loved.

The Rolling Fork Fire Department has kicked off its annual food drive, a long-running community effort that has supported families in southern Nelson and northern Larue counties since 1963.

Organizers are asking for community support through monetary donations or canned goods to help make this year’s drive a success. Volunteers will assemble food boxes between December 12th and 14th, with all donations going to families in need during the holiday season.

Anyone wishing to contribute or to recommend a family for assistance can contact Deputy Chief Chris Cecil at 502-827-4390 or through the department’s page. Donations may also be dropped off at New Haven City Hall.

Department officials said they are grateful for the community’s continued generosity and support of the decades-old tradition.
