We're looking for individuals with lived experience to help make our Overdose Awareness Event a meaningful and healing space for our community.

If you have lost someone to an overdose or have survived an overdose yourself, we invite you to consider sharing your story. Personal stories have the power to reduce stigma, foster connection and remind others that they are not alone. Your voice could bring hope, healing, and understanding to those who attend.

If you're interested in participating or would like to learn more, please email Michelle LaPerle at [email protected].

Thank you for considering being part of this important event and helping us honor lives, support healing and inspire compassion.

Three years ago today, we lost a truly special young man — Tyler Matthews.
Tyler’s life was taken far too soon by overdose/fentanyl poisoning. A tragic, senseless loss that still leaves so many hearts aching today. Some losses never really get easier… you simply learn to carry the heartbreak differently.
Tyler had a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humor that could pull laughter out of anyone around him. He loved the outdoors, loved being with the people he cared about, and he had this unforgettable way of suddenly breaking into song without a second thought. If you knew Tyler, there’s a good chance you can still hear him belting out “Sweet Caroline” somewhere in your memories.
More than anything, Tyler loved fiercely.
He loved his family deeply.
He loved his friends with his whole heart.
He had so much life ahead of him, so many moments still waiting to be lived, and that is what makes this loss feel so incredibly heavy even three years later.
Today we remember Tyler not for how he left this world, but for how he lived in it — the laughter he brought, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the impact he left on the people lucky enough to know him.
Please keep Tyler’s family and friends in your thoughts today. Anniversaries like this reopen wounds that never fully heal.
Gone far too soon.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
NEVER FORGOTTEN.
