Congratulations to Vivica Lewandowski! The Barrington native just captured the title of Miss Illinois USA® 2026 on her first attempt competing in the Miss division, earning not only the crown, but also the Modeling Portfolio Award and Best in Swimsuit. One week earlier, she defeated more than 750 contestants to win the prestigious Miss USA Miami Swim Week Competition, solidifying herself as one of the most talked-about newcomers heading into Miss USA this August in Miami.

Only three years ago, she represented Illinois at Miss Teen USA 2023 after winning Miss Illinois Teen USA, where she earned a Top 20 placement and the Miss Congeniality Award.

At just 21 years old, Lewandowski is making pageant history and is now preparing to take the national stage at the 75th Diamond Anniversary of Miss USA 2026 in Miami this August.

If she were to capture Miss USA this August, Lewandowski would become one of the youngest women in recent history to hold both an Illinois state title and the Miss USA crown at just 21 years old—an achievement reached by only a select few contestants nationwide.

Barrington’s Art Festival kicks off tomorrow at 10 a.m. in downtown Barrington. Welcome the return of summer at the 17th annual Barrington Art Festival, Memorial Day Weekend! Start your family or friend’s day downtown with coffee and breakfast, then soak in unique art from 125+ artists at this long-cherished community tradition. Join live painting classes, face painting, bubbles, jugglers, caricatures, and a creative stop in the Kids Art Zone. Break for lunch at your favorite local spot, or enjoy a cold beer, lemonade, and delicious snacks at the fest. Be sure to look for Kid Friendly Tents and Live Art Demo signs to get interactive with the artists. Barrington’s great restaurants, cafes, and retail stores are open all weekend.
