Western CUSD 12 is offering a free parent workshop for all area schools parents and guardians on October 6, 2025 from 6 PM - 7:30 PM. Free child care will be provided by the Barry YMCA. The presentation will occur in the Western HS Gym.

Our presenter will be Heidy LaFleur and she will be presenting on "Understand My Brain to Understand My Behavior". Please see the attached flyer. Her presentation will focus on these three areas.

Leave with an understanding of how the brain works and strategies we can follow to help kids become available to learn and to take care of ourselves as adults at the same time.

Focus on the eight letters of the Social Emotional Alphabet paired with brain research to take away informed strategies and perspectives

Be able to discuss the needs of our kids and plan for those needs rather than blame things out of our control.
