Seven years ago, when we sat down with the then-104-year-old Viola Fletcher, bmonthly had the privilege of sharing her story in 2018 and later visiting with her in person for an interview we will never forget.
She shared pieces of her life and experiences with us, and we still smile remembering the little bit of humor and wisdom she offered that day—proof of her gentle wit and resilient spirit.

We are grateful to have heard her voice, to have learned from her strength, and to have been entrusted with even a small part of her remarkable story.

Welcome to December friends, and from our bmonthly family to yours, Merry Christmas! I really don't have much to say about the stories inside the magazine because, as you know, we are the best city magazine in the state. What I do want to talk about is the cover of this years issue. Many of you know, we lost our Santa Ron Adams last year. He has been on the cover of this magazine since 2011, six years before Christy and I took it over. Before Ron got really sick I told him that there will never be another December issue without you as the Santa on the cover as long as we run the magazine. With that unforgettable smile, he looked at me and said, "Keith that would be an honor." So after a hard night of delivering presents all around the world, he is back home taking a nap. Magazines will be out this week. Merry Christmas and God bless, and we will see you down the road!🎅
