π¨ VINDICATED: DA Refuses ALL Charges Against Journalist Assaulted at New Orleans City Hall
They split his head open. They charged HIM with a crime. They threw him in jail. They hid the evidence.
And the Orleans Parish District Attorney just confirmed what every document in this case already proved: it was ALL a lie.
Code 433 β "REFUSED β Law Enforcement Issue."
The cops are the problem.
On November 12, 2025, independent journalist Matthew Reardon walked into New Orleans City Hall to cover public proceedings. A security guard violently attacked him, splitting his head open. He left in an ambulance.
By sundown that same day, NOPD charged THE JOURNALIST β not the attacker.
Then they:
β Let the actual attacker walk free
β Used the false charge to DENY his public records request for the security footage
β Arrested him during a winter storm 2 months later
β Lied about bond requirements to keep him locked up
β Dumped him on the streets 150 miles from his car
β Closed his records request and called it done
The DA looked at NOPD's work and gave it ONE code: 433 β Law Enforcement Issue.
