Temporary Closure Scheduled on Highway 25 Across Greers Ferry Dam

CLEBURNE COUNTY

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) will close all lanes of Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3.

Following the full closure, the road will reopen but be reduced to a single lane around the clock from 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3, until 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9.

Weather permitting, the closure will allow crews to complete repair work and maintenance. The closure has been coordinated with local emergency management officials and law enforcement agencies.

Travel to locations on Highway 25 north of the Greers Ferry Dam closure will require a detour using Highway 25 south near Pearson to Highway 16 west to Whispering Springs, to Highway 92 east to Drasco, back to Highway 25.

Big win for agriculture. The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (Farm Bill) has passed the House with bipartisan support.

We were glad to be in Washington, D.C., last week advocating for cattle producers and reinforcing the importance of getting a strong Farm Bill across the finish line.

Included in the bill are several important wins for cattle producers, including protecting the livestock carveout in EQIP, fixing Prop 12 to protect interstate livestock production, strengthening foreign animal disease preparedness, and expanding protections against foreign adversaries purchasing ag land.

It’s an important step forward, but the work is not done. The Farm Bill now moves to the Senate, where Senator Boozman will take up the helm. Thank you to our House delegation for fighting for the Farm Bill and getting it across the first finish line.

ACA will keep working to make sure Arkansas cattle producers’ priorities stay front and center.
