Thanks to all who helped with Back to Bethlehem. It was amazing this year. Beautiful weather and good attendance the first night and cold and 1/2 the attendance the second night but NO RAIN! Hooray. Hope you saw the headliner story in the Washington Daily News Friday and the headliner in the Daily Reflector on Saturday. Great stories. One request, please send me your pictures so I can post them if you took any. Love to keep the memories!

Looking for actors, performers that might be interested in portraying a character at an upcoming Ghost Walk in the town of Bath. They will take place the 3rd saturdays in June, July and August begining at 8:30pm. You would be required to be there about 1-2 hrs. These actors include someone to play Blackbeard, Edna Ferber, John Lawson, etc. If interested, email me at [email protected]. This is volunteer work but if you have to travel a distance, they may compensate for gas if you are chosen.

We are once again gearing up for Back to Bethlehem – our live nativity- which will be held the 2nd weekend in December this year at the theatre. We join with several other churches to bring this to pass. We are looking for volunteers to portray the following:

• Innkeeper (speaking part)
• Angels (non-speaking)
• Mary (non-speaking part)
• Joseph (non-speaking part)
• Simeon (speaking part)
• Elisabeth (speaking part)
• Wisemen (speaking part for one of the three- non-speaking for other 2)
• Harod (non-speaking)

Addtionally, we will need the following helpers:

• Tour guides (non-speaking except when giving the tours directions)
• Choirs or soloists to perform between tours
• Stage manager(s)
• Tech director
• Set builders
• Clean up crew
• Concessions helpers (hot chocolate and cookies)

In case you haven’t heard, we are scheduled to have our Promised Land Cast Reunion for any former cast or committee members of the Promised Land and their friends on February 18th at 7pm so SAVE THE DATE! Location to be confirmed but I’m thinking it’s going to be in Kinston at the LDS Meetinghouse since it’s more centrally located for everyone.

We will be watching the pageant video from 2011 as well as getting updates about 2012. Come if you can! Bring some munchies to share while watching the video.

Looking for talent! Anyone interested in performing for our live nativity - Back to Bethlehem Dec 4 or 5th please let me know. We need songs that are spiritual, nativity themed. Choirs or soloists welcome!

The Promised Land for 2010 is behind us and was a huge success. We had 127 cast members (last year was 72), 500 audience members Friday and 420 Saturday (blew the prior numbers out of the water, and a wonderful preshow complete with pony rides, a candy cannon, quilting displays, pioneer games, homemade ice cream and skiff building. Best year ever! Thanks cast and crew!
