In 1836 New Orleans, a slave auction sets the stage for a supernatural encounter. Alma, a rebellious slave, escapes his cruel master, Thomas Calhoun, at the auction. Simultaneously, Rosette, a house slave yearning for freedom, flees her plantation. Both are pursued and find themselves drawn to a mysterious light in the woods. The light transports them to 2020, where they collide on a college campus. This collision sparks a chain of events that will forever alter their lives and the lives of those around them.
