Mayor-President Broome Declares Emergency for East Baton Rouge: City-Parish Closures Announced
Hey District 10! 🚨 Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome has officially declared an emergency ahead of Hurricane Francine’s arrival in Louisiana. This means our City-Parish is fully activating emergency plans and may request additional resources if needed.
As of now, City-Parish offices will be closed Wednesday, September 11, and Thursday, September 12. The Metropolitan Council meeting set for Wednesday has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 18.
🛑 Sand and Sandbag Locations:
The City-Parish, in collaboration with BREC, has made sand and sandbags available at 9 locations across East Baton Rouge Parish. Be sure to bring your own shovel if you plan to grab sandbags. You can view all sandbag locations here: gis.brla.gov/emergency
