Rising Phoenix Productions Ashes to Resurrection

Rising Phoenix Productions Ashes to Resurrection A production company created for local writers to showcase their work as a movie. In April of 2014 I stepped foot into the acting world as a set intern.

Since then I have done everything I can to get contacts and experience in the business. This past fall I signed up on a start up crew. This inspired me to write my own short. My mission after my first short is to hold a local competition to bring together local script writers and have their work come to life.

Calling all Actors and Actresses the University of Louisiana at Monroe is seeking the following characters for their spring cinema class. They are shooting a pilot for a series that may be entered into several contests upon completion.
Because this is a series some roles could be reoccurring.

This is a student project which means little to no pay. Snack and beverages will be included for filming days.

Sarah Bland: late 20's-early 30's She should be attractive, and possibly with a thin, model type body. Not painfully thin. appearance, young Sharon Stone

Jason Bland: late 30s to early 40's. He should be older than Sarah, and going through a midlife crisis. I see an older Neil Patrick Harris look, though that is the age of Neil Patrick Harris. More grey hair and aging in the face than NPH. Gay

Landon Caldwell: He is an early 20's gay tw***ie, thin, looks a lot younger than he actually is. He is a named character, that is pivotal to the action, but right now doesn't have any lines. We may be adding an email that will be voiced over. He should have a bit of desperation in his look. The kind of guy who always looks for a sugar daddy. No body hair

Frank Harris: he is a young gay bear cub. Mid to late 20's. He has to appear younger than Sarah. Has to have a beard (or some facial hair, more than a mustache) and a hairy chest. (Must be comfortable with no shirt)

Barry: This role is another drag queen but we never see her in drag. One scene but pretty dramatic and a good number of lines in the scene. We have to believe that he is a drag queen. We are going to put this role up on Indiegogo. The role can be played a number of different ways. It could be a big black man,It could be played as a reformed street hustler. It could be performed as an OLD queen. Any nationality and age.

20-30 extras needed
March 25 through April 3, there may be a few pick up dates before and after this time.

Send all resumes and pictures to [email protected].

Men please include pictures with shirt off as well as some roles will require you to perform with no shirt on.

Put in subject character name.

Video auditions welcome

Must be available for both night and day filming.

His ashes made it to Florida! So one of the owners of a hotel, Judi was walking on the beach this morning cleaning up the junk that washed into shore and finds a bottle with a message in it. There is also some sand and 2 one dollar bills. Once we get it open and read the notes we find out that it is in fact NOT sand. It is the ashes of this woman's husband of 70 years named Gordon. She writes that He loved to travel so she sent him traveling in a bottle with a note and money for someone to call home and tell her where he landed. He started at Big Pine Key in March of 2012 and then went to Islamerada where someone found him. They added a note and sent him traveling again and he landed on our beach in Key Colony. Judi called the wife in Tennessee who was excited to know of Gordon's travels! Judi added her note, we put him in a rum bottle (you know added a little fun to his trip) with the three notes. We added another dollar in case Gordon travels far and a long distance call is needed. We will be having a memorial service or celebration of his life on our beach later today before sending him on his way again.
