We're tracking a low-end severe weather threat from Monday night into Tuesday. A few strong to severe storms are possible ahead of our next cold front. While the threat is fairly low, a tornado or two could be in the mix. The threat is generally greater the farther northwest you go. I'll keep an eye on trends and keep you updated...

⚠️ Fog Threat Returns Late Tonight

We caught a break from the fog Thursday night into Friday morning, but the threat returns into early Saturday. Stay alert if you're hitting the roads late tonight or early Saturday. Slow down in areas of fog, leave plenty of stopping distance, and use low beam headlights.

Via Canal Bank Club - SeaWorld Rescue has joined the search for a manatee that has been spotted in the Diversion Canal in recent days. While locals say manatees are spotted in the area periodically, the concern is that this one may be in distress due to waters being too cool. When I toured the Diversion Canal a couple of weeks ago, I was told stories of manatees before this one was spotted. Of course, another concern is taking a prop hit in an area that has a lot of boat traffic.

Look at this turkey - he can't believe his eyes!

Confidence is growing that we'll finally see some cooler weather arrive just in time for Thanksgiving. Now...pay attention to the numbers on the map and don't let the colors fool you. They represent anomalies, or departures from normal. In essence, this European model projection is showing most of our area experiencing temps that are 4-6 degrees below normal around lunchtime on Thanksgiving. Not an Arctic blast by any stretch...but some nice cool fall weather, with highs likely in the 60s.

You know me by now...I'd be perfectly happy with temps in the 70s, but I think this is a forecast that will have more of you smiling by Turkey Day.

Just an unreal view inside the eye of Hurricane Melissa as it was approaching Jamaica in late October.
