๐ŸŽ‰ LPB is celebrating 50 years of being Louisiana's storyteller! Here's a look back at an early station logo used in the late 1970s & early 1980s. ๐Ÿ“บ

By the late 1970s, WLPB Ch. 27 had expanded beyond the metro Baton Rouge area into Monroe (KLTM) and Shreveport (KLTS) via transmitter, creating the need for a new moniker signalling we were now a statewide network. As "Louisiana Public Broadcasting" and (and "LPB" for short) were eventually adopted, new logos quickly followed.

Celebrate America250 this weekend in New Orleans, as a flotilla of sail-based tall ships come to town. This large gathering of ships and naval vessels, known as Sail250, seeks to "celebrate America's Sestercentennial with the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships creating a majestic nautical spectacle along the historic Mississippi River."

The Sail250 event will also host "events, festivities and celebrations" in New Orleans in order to "educate, entertain and engage audiences."

In our final installment of Louisiana Young Heroes, meet Maylie Stanley of Glenmora, a Senior at Pineville High School.

As the Louisiana Teens Speak Up! representative through the Epilepsy Foundation Louisiana, she shares her journey emphasizing the need for increased research funding, expanded education, and improved access to care for individuals living with epilepsy. She is a strong advocate for implementing Seizure First Aid and epilepsy awareness in all schools.
