BOBBY HOLLEY, CLASS OF 1963
A true community pillar, Bobby Holley's path to success started with a tour of duty in the U.S. Army. After his service, he embraced higher education, earning an Associate in General Studies from Kellogg Community College in 1974, and later a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Western Michigan University, where he also minored in Music Theory. For two decades, he dedicated his career to the Federal Center, and after retiring, he began a new chapter as a substitute teacher.
Holley is celebrated as "Mr. Entertainment," using his talents to raise money for important causes, like providing free bicycles to children in the area. His commitment to social good also includes marathon walks and crawls to combat bullying and gun violence. His legacy is cemented by his induction into the Hall of Fame at both Battle Creek Central and Kellogg Community College, and the city’s renaming of a portion of Waubascon Road to "Bobby Holley Way" in 2018.
