The wait is finally over on our backyard homestead! Our beautiful Black Copper Marans girls have started laying their very first eggs! 🖤🐔✨

Look at those gorgeous, deep chocolate-brown eggs! 😍 There’s something extra special about collecting that very first egg from a young hen you’ve watched grow up. From fluffy little chicks to our first basket of beautiful farm-fresh eggs—what a milestone! 🌱🏡

Backyard homesteading is full of these little moments that make all the hard work worth it. ❤️

We have so many cayenne peppers and bell peppers growing. I don’t think my poblano plant is going to make it unfortunately.

Finally got an up close view of these boys! Normally these roosters runoff as soon as you come up to the run. But they huddled up with that nice cold water since it’s so hot today!
