Commissioners Court approved a Sargent Beach stabilization project contract change at the court's meeting Monday.
The contract is related to the long-awaited Sargent Breakwater project, and Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Estlinbaum said that he heard the Texas General Land Office was going out for bids Aug. 5.
Port of Bay City Authority Chairman George Harrison said he was excited the authority was finally moving forward on Sargent's West Mooring Dock Park at its meeting last week.
The authority approved engineering and design services for the park, which has Sargent's only public boat ramp, at the meeting.
City Council approved new road material bids at its meeting earlier in July.
The materials will be used to support the city's ongoing road maintenance and repair work.
The bids were received June 26.
The 11th Annual Hotel Blessing Car Show drew 114 entries from 19 cities and towns outside of Matagorda County last Saturday. Jeff Keller traveled 297 miles from his home in Tatum to be in the show.
