Shooting in Unincorporated Oakley Leaves One in Critical Condition

Oakley, CA — A shooting in unincorporated Oakley left one man in critical condition Tuesday evening, according to authorities.

On April 21, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m., multiple calls were made reporting numerous gunshots and a male victim down near Dutch Slough Road and Wells Road on Bethel Island in unincorporated Oakley.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and located an adult male suffering from approximately four to five gunshot wounds to the lower abdomen. Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim was airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether a suspect has been taken into custody or remains outstanding. A nearby resident reported witnessing a possible suspect being placed in handcuffs; however, that information has not been officially confirmed by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not released further details at this time.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available from the sheriff’s office.

Vehicle Crashes Into 7-Eleven, Injures Woman in Antioch

ANTIOCH, Calif. — A woman sustained moderate injuries after a vehicle crashed into a 7-Eleven store in Antioch on Monday afternoon.

On April 20, 2026, at approximately 2:52 p.m., emergency crews responded to reports of a vehicle that had driven into a 7-Eleven located on the 2300 block of Buchanan Road. Upon arrival, first responders found a single vehicle that had collided with the storefront.

Fire personnel located a female victim inside the building who had been struck during the incident. She was extricated from the structure and transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the vehicle suffered only minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

According to initial information, the crash appears to have been caused by the driver mistakenly pressing the accelerator instead of the brake.

No additional injuries were reported. The building sustained damage and is expected to be boarded up until repairs can be completed.

The incident remains under investigation.

Rollover Crash Leaves One in Critical Condition in Concord

CONCORD, CA — April 20, 2026

A solo vehicle crash in Concord Monday afternoon left one person in critical condition after the vehicle overturned and came to rest on a nearby military property.

At approximately 12:21 p.m., emergency crews responded to reports of a rollover crash along Port Chicago Highway near the intersection of Kinney Boulevard. Upon arrival, first responders located a single vehicle that had breached a fence line and entered the Motco military base.

Fire personnel worked to extricate a male driver from the wreckage. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and driving erratically prior to the crash. Authorities also noted that approximately 75 feet of fencing was damaged as a result of the incident.

It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Solo rollover crash on Bailey Road on the Concord side, two female patients, possibly under age and possible DUI but details were limited on scene. A total of 2 female patients were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
