A small fire started in a work van this morning on Plat Ave in Hauppauge. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire without incident. There were no injuries.

At 5:46am on Tuesday June 2nd, The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to an MVA with reported entrapment at Veterans Memorial Highway near Gatewood Drive. 3-8-40 was first to arrive and confirmed a 3 car accident with 1 person pinned near New Highway. Firefighters from Rescue 9 arrived and quickly extricated the occupant within minutes. Commack Ambulance evaluated and transported to an area hospital. 3-8-32 was OIC.

On Monday June 1st, 2026 just before 6:00am The Dix Hills Fire Department was dispatched to car into the woods on the Northern State Parkway westbound near Route 231. Additional calls began coming in for a reported car into house with fire at 260 Deforest Road North. Suffolk County Police Officers were first to arrive and reported a car into a house with a confirmed fire and when firefighters arrived a working fire was transmitted. Firefighters placed 3 lines into operation to extinguish the fire. The homeowner was evaluated and transported for unknown injuries.

5/19 - DOA in a vehicle in Ronkonkoma, NY and a brush fire in Brentwood, NY.
5/20 - Train incident in Brentwood, NY.
5/23 - Flatbed truck fire in Hauppauge, NY.
5/29 - Vehicle fire in Brentwood, NY.

WATCH: The Brentwood Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire Friday night on the Long Island Expressway. A fully involved passenger vehicle fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters. There were no injuries.

Just before 8:30 on Saturday May 23rd, 2026 The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a reported tractor trailer on fire in front of 380 Oser Ave. 3-8-40 was first to arrive and confirmed an active fire. Firefighters arrived shortly thereafter and put two hand lines into operation to extinguish the fire. The fire took about 30 minutes to bring under control and there were no reported injuries.
