Judging starts on MONDAY, DECEMBER 8TH through WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10TH for the Spirit of Christmas Decorating AROUND TOWN to pick the winners.

THURSDAY, DEC 11: There will be AT 5:00 PM The Tree of Name and Lights Lighting in Lou Mac Park • The Decorating Contest Winners will be announced and Parks & Rec has aTown Wide Cookie Exchange Bring a Dozen, Get a Dozen, Enjoy with your Hot Chocolate and Caroling with the Uhoos.

Christmas in Oriental - Christmas Luminaria VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
You don’t have to volunteer for each event. Find the one that works for you and be there. Volunteers are needed for luminary creation, deployment, and retrieval, including trucks and trailers.

Here’s the schedule:
• Pre-lighting candles: Dec 9, 400 Ragan Rd, 12noon
• Luminary assembly & deployment: Dec 12, start at 400 Ragan Rd, 1 – 4p
• Luminary lighting: Dec 12, 5p
• Luminary collection: Dec 13, 8a

There are no sign up sheets, just show up and help.

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS 2025 SEE FULL SCHEDULE:

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11TH
THE TREE OF NAMES AND LIGHTS
Lou Mac Park Thursday, December 11th at 5:00pm.
The Oriental tradition continues! The Tree remains up
until New Year’s Day and honors and memorializes
residents and loved ones (people and pets).
For a $5 donation, one candle ornament with the
name of your loved one is hand-made and placed on
the Tree of Names and Lights in Lou Mac Park.
A red bow on the candle means ‘In Honor of’, a green
bow is ‘In Memory of’. Donations go to a different
charity each year. Donations this year will support a
local charity To Be Announced.

Please send all information (In Honor or In Memory,
and the name) and your donations to:

(weather permitting). The 2025 Spirit of Christmas
kayak/canoe/dinghy/paddle board flotilla takes place
in Oriental Harbor at dusk. No engines or sails.

Oriental Wildlife Ramp 301 Midyette St, Oriental
@ 4:30pm.
