📱 We got what we, as small business owners, have always wanted! We can even cultivate a relationship with our audience for free aka organically, by just posting consistently and keeping our followers in the know.

We collectively put “The Secret” in motion, we’ve got to take advantage now!

RUINED IT! 🤦🏼‍♀️

🙅🏼‍♀️Of course we know that’s not true but here we are making statements like “we used to play OUTSIDE, now kids today bla blah blah”.

Conveniently we forget the “couch potato” struggle! 🛋️ 📺 🥔

Despite being in an advantageous position today, Gen X small business owners often overlook the benefits right in front of them. We have the opportunity to utilize organic social media for free and consistently engage with our audience to showcase our genuine business.

Our Grandparents couldn’t have dreamed of the free exposure our small businesses can have from a global to local level. We can tell our story everyday!

STRAIGHT TALK TRUTH 💣

🙅🏼‍♀️Social media marketing is not magic.

🏎️If you don’t have systems in place to next step a prospective client/customer so you can receive new business from social media, then you end up trying to “go fast” in neutral.

💁🏼‍♀️Ex: You spend your valuable time & energy on social media but your team never replies back to calls, dm’s or emails.
🖊️Assign this task to a team member asap! You should at least have an automated link to a form worth filling out.

💁🏼‍♀️Ex: You’re getting over your fear of the camera by consistently posting, but you’re afraid of sounding “salesie” so you don’t NEXT STEP an interested person.
🖋️People will sell themselves when you build a lot of value. As long as you’re not selling snake oil of course.😉 Invite them into your business or create a questionnaire. Schedule a conversation for today or tomorrow.

👋🏼Building Digital Friendships…

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

Dale Carnegie’s “How To Win Friends and Influence People” was one of the first books I read when I started selling.

💎Although it was written in 1936, this principle can still be applied to your social media audience today. You tell your story so they may see themselves in you or be inspired by you. Leave your ego in the 1980’s and find what’s relatable to THEM. 👍🏼

🧌The avoidable “social media monster” is no longer avoidable!

Social media continues to capture YOUR audience and serve them more of THEIR interests, which could be you! The algorithm is each users “secret shopper”. Collecting & serving the user’s likes, wants, & needs.

Don’t let your personal bias and judgements of social media dictate whether your clients & customers get to find you.

You may think “social media is a messy, dramatic, phony place to be” because you come from an older generation. But that doesn’t have to be the case. Make your professional skill sets of networking, communication & story telling be the natural content that your audience craves.

You don’t have to chase fads & trends. Just show up in a real way and start telling your stories.
