What did you have for Christmas dinner?
Probably not 24 pounds of goose, 20 pounds of duck or 2 gallons of oysters... (and that's just part of the menu )

Beulah's new science and discovery center is coming together. Exhibits and interactive stations are being developed. In the meantime, one corner of the space offers kits, puzzles and toys that encourage exploration.

COGnition, next to the post office downtown, is open today (Thursday) and Friday from 10am-5:30pm. Kimmee Wenkel gives you an overview in the video.

Update: (10:38pm)
Manistee County says:
"Manistee County Alerts: Manistee County 911 is back to normal operations"

Update: (6:34pm) The dispatch center has clarified the original message. They say that 911 should still be called in case of an emergency, but that a person may have to call back, or try multiple times, as they only have one 911 line working at the moment. A caller may also be auto-forwarded to Benzie County dispatch.

Manistee County has issued the following statement:
"Manistee County Alerts: Manistee County 911 is having phone problems call 911 for emergencies or 231-723-4511 for non emergencies we will advise when repaired"

This Sunday is the deadline to tell Michigan's DEQ your thoughts about Nestle/Ice Mountain's request to pump more groundwater. Email is the best method at this point.

Article: http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/2016/11/deq_extends_comment_window_pla.html

Straight p**p: To comment on the Nestle proposal, email Carrie Monosmith at [email protected], or send mail to Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Drinking Water and Municipal Assistance, P.O. Box 30241, Lansing, Michigan 48909-7741. Comments must be *received* by Dec. 3.

Nestle wants to more than double pumping from Evart well.
