🎥 Summer Film Production: Lights, Camera, Chaos! ☀️

Think summer break is for relaxing? Think again! Welcome to the class where sweat meets storyboards and moon burns happen between takes. Whether you're wrangling tripods, chasing golden hour, or begging your cousin to play "Spider Mom," this is where movie magic—and mild mayhem—happens. BYO creativity, caffeine, and at least one wild idea that somehow involves an old tractor that doesn't run. Let’s make some cinematic chaos and call it art!

Our summer film kids had their FINAL meeting BEFORE they start shooting this weekend. Our Department Chair, Dr. Michalski, ran into the students and Mr. Jeremy Hawa (instructor) last night. We can't wait to see "Mother's Day" screened at the Film Showcase in Spring 2026.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of our retired faculty members, Dr. Roth.

If you have any stories you'd like to share with us, please do. He was loved by many across campus, and within the department.

Doktor Lane “Doc” Roth, Communications Educator at Lamar University passed away after a brief illness on May 20, 2025. He will be remembered by his students, colleagues, and friends as a most unique, challenging, and inspiring mentor whose knowledge of various subjects and interests was vast.
