STATEMENT FROM BPD

On Friday, December 12, 2025 at 9:17 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to 7th and Louisiana in reference to assisting Port Arthur PD pursuing an armed suspect.
The suspect lost control of his vehicle on the service road of I-10 near 7th Street. He then exited his vehicle and fired shots at officers, who returned fire.
EMS responded and attempted life saving measures, however the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No officers were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
