We are honored to be one of the featured projects in one of the nations best architectural magazines. The City of Galveston’s 30th Street Pump Station is a great addition to Galveston’s historic past.
The new issue of Texas Architect focuses on placekeeping, considering the complexities of what it means to build and develop in an “authentic” way — we visit four sites in West Texas facing unique challenges in how the stories of their past are told, explore the alternate approaches to development and preservation demonstrated by Seguin and Amarillo, consider what role architects can play in placekeeping, and examine conceptual work by design studios exploring small Texas towns.
Also in this issue: Preservation/Adaptive Reuse Portfolio; Midcentury Modern in Fredericksburg; Tribal Buffalo Project; Markers of Racial Terror and Triumph; Kalita Humphreys Q&A; and more.
