I have spent the past 24 hours struggling with some pretty complex emotions, as I am sure many of you are.
At the end of the day, it is an evil world with evil people who have evil intent. No one should be shot and killed for practicing their freedom of speech, nor simply going to school. These are innocent people who have lost their lives at the hands of people who think they can act as judge and jury based on their wicked emotions.
Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
My heart breaks for Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika, and their 2 young children.
Agree with him or not, you cannot say he did not remain steadfast in his beliefs, even when viehemently opposed, and he truly believed what he preached.
As a Christian, that testimony is so inspiring. Someone fighting the good fight. Someone who was called home to Jesus who is greeting him with the words of, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
But the reality is very heavy for those of us still earth- side, and is very troubling for the current state of our country, and our world.
I don’t share my beliefs publicly very much anymore.
But this whole situation-

was keeping me up last night. I couldn’t sleep.
I felt hopeless.
What kind of world are my children going to live in?
What can I do to help?
As I was praying over these things, a quote came to my mind-
“In a fearful world, we need a fearless church.“
-C.S. Lewis
I was inspired by Charlie, his willingness to stand and be bold in his faith, and to never waiver in his trust in Jesus.
No matter what you believe, I think this should be an inspiration to you to stand, firmly, for it.
So- all that to say, I meditated over this quote while making a couple of phone lockscreens. In the midst of the sadness, I felt the urge to be creative.
I wanted to share them with you if you would also like to use them.
I hope they encourage you.
If you’re feeling heavy. confused, heartbroken, you’re not alone.
We have to be better to each other.
