Well, it seems the DEQ is working on the new 600 permits... Here is a notice they sent to me... If you have the time, this would be a great place to get informed....

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality invites you to participate in an informational discussion on the proposed revisions to the 600 WPCF.

This water quality general permit is for small-scale mining operations and non-chemical ore processors that dispose of wastewater by evaporation and/or seepage. Operations are off-stream and above ordinary high-water levels. Discharge to water is prohibited.

DEQ will be at the following locations:

In Baker City, on June 24, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
